Data sources & freshness
DreamMatch pulls from many places at once. Here's exactly what we read, when it was last checked, and how we label anything that isn't verifiably live.
Where our information comes from
For every search we run parallel scans across major online travel agencies (Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda, Kayak, Momondo, Trip.com, Vrbo, Airbnb), review platforms (TripAdvisor, Google, Reddit, Yelp), the hotel's own website where reachable, and video sources such as YouTube. We also read the destination on the map to infer transfer times, walkability and nearby amenities.
How we label freshness
Every result carries a source badge so you always know what you're looking at:
- Live provider data — pulled from a provider integration within the current session.
- Recently refreshed — cached from a scan in the last few hours.
- Review-derived — synthesised from public reviews, not a booking system.
- Estimated — reasoned from comparable stays or seasonal averages.
- Demonstration data — example content shown while a scan is unavailable. Never treat this as a bookable offer.
- Information unavailable — we could not find a trustworthy source.
- Conflicting evidence — sources disagreed; we surface the disagreement instead of picking a winner.
What we don't claim
We never label cached, generated or demonstration content as "live". If a provider integration wasn't reached during your search, the badge will say so. Always confirm the final price and availability on the booking page before paying.
